Yin Yoga with Myofascial Release*
This Yin practice will be a relaxing, quiet practice of stretching the body and its fascia(connective tissue around the muscles). This is done through three stages: 1- finding amoderate stretch. 2- staying still. 3- holding each position for 3-7 minutes. This workshop willconsist of twists, forward bends, back bends, hip openings, and some gentle, relaxinginversions, all in a reclined or seated position.
*Myofascial Self-Release will be offered between the Yin Shapes and occasionally during theshapes. This is a way to apply a massage-like pressure to our own body parts (using woodendowels and tennis balls) with minimal effort while relaxing and targeting the places in our necks, shoulders, upper back, buttocks, thighs, calves, feet that hold the most tension- all while werelax into it, breathe into it and let it release.
Props provided- All Levels- No experience necessary - Beginners welcome- Wear layers
Note: if you prefer not to use them- alternatives to dowels and balls will be offered.
