Hips stay healthy when they’re strong, mobile, and balanced in all planes of movement. In this 2-hour clinic, you’ll learn a simple, intelligent sequence you can repeat for life to support hip function, ease knee/low-back strain, and improve posture—no yoga experience needed.

Hips are designed to move—and to stabilize—in every direction. When they’re not strong and balanced, the “cost” often shows up elsewhere: strained tendons/ligaments, excessive joint wear, knee irritation, low-back discomfort, and postural misalignment.

Many yoga classes emphasize hip opening in only a few directions, which can unintentionally increase imbalance (and aggravate knees or the low back). This workshop is different: you’ll learn how to build hip integrity through a practical blend of mobility + strength + alignment so your hips feel better now and keep serving you for decades.


What you’ll learn

  • The 6 key hip actions (flexion/extension, abduction/adduction, internal/external rotation) and what balance actually looks like
  • How to “open” hips without sacrificing knees (and what to stop doing if knees complain)
  • A simple hip-care sequence you can do 2–4x/week (with modifications for tight hips or sensitive backs)
  • Strength builders for the deep stabilizers (glute med/min, deep rotators, adductors)
  • Posture basics: how hip function influences your pelvis, low back, and knees

This workshop is a must for

  • Athletes of all levels who want better hip function and durability
  • Everyone who wants to reduce hip issues associated with aging and stiffness
  • Those with hip pain, low-back pain, and/or knee issues (modifications provided)
  • Open to everyone — no yoga experience necessary


What to bring / wear

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in
  • Water bottle
  • If you have them: a yoga strap + a light resistance band (optional)

Important notes

Please let the teacher know in advance if you have: recent surgery, hip labrum concerns, significant sciatica symptoms, severe osteoporosis, or any medical restrictions. You’re always encouraged to work within a pain-free range and choose the modification offered.
