Iyengar Yoga Workshop: Forward Extensions
2-Hour Workshop
In this 2-hour workshop, we will explore the calming and grounding practice of forward extensions in a clear and accessible way.
Forward bends can help quiet the mind, lengthen the back body, and teach us how to move with more patience and attention. In Iyengar Yoga, these poses are not about forcing yourself deeper. They are about learning how to create space, work intelligently, and use support where needed.
We will take time to break down the actions of each pose step by step, with options and props to help make the practice more approachable for students who are not advanced.
Poses we will explore include:
You can expect a steady practice with clear instruction, careful setup, and attention to the legs, hips, spine, and breath. We will look at how to work safely and more comfortably in these asymmetrical seated forward bends, and how each pose can help improve flexibility, focus, and inner quiet.
This workshop is suitable for students with some yoga experience who want to understand forward extensions more deeply without needing to be highly advanced. Props and modifications will be offered throughout.
